Game modes

The basics

Competitive, co-op and event modes, and the maps each is played on.

CrossFire groups its modes three ways. The lists below are the modes Z8Games currently describes, with how many maps each runs on.

Co-op

Players together against the game: zombie, bot and wave modes.

Event

Modes that rotate in for events and seasons.

The classics in one line each

Search & Destroy
One life a round. Attackers plant C4 at a site; defenders stop them or defuse it. Plant and defuse times are on Game mechanics
Free for All
Everyone against everyone; the most kills wins.
Ghost Mode
A Search & Destroy variant where one side is nearly invisible and fights with knives.
Mutation and zombie modes
Infected players hunt the rest; survivors hold out until the timer ends.
